New Beginnings

Honestly, I just wanted somewhere to write again. The personal stuff. The real stuff. Somewhere where I can write the word sex without having to use emojis and code word so I don't lose my entire social media platform. So here we go. I don't know what this will look like but this is where I started.

Many don't know I was an avid Blogger back when blogs began. I would be sitting in the big office looking out at the Sears Tower in my Investment Banking job and any downtime that I had, I would be blogging and writing. It was everything from life as a 20 year old living in Chicago, travel, food and basically anything else that was on my mind.  I was Mormon at the time so that was interwoven. I have been sharing my life in online spaces since 2004. Almost two decades now. Which is a little mind blowing. 

So now, here I am at 40. Nowhere where I thought I would be when I began writing and also everywhere that I am supposed to be. What a fucking journey it has been. From Investment Banking and Married Life and Mormonism in Chicago to Sex Coaching, Single Mama of boys and a Spiritual Hedonist. Makes me giggle a bit just thinking of how polar opposite life has become. 

I sit here drinking my coffee this morning in a chair that I have been writing in since 2009 and it is still my favorite place in the world. Cozy blankets, by a window that looks out at trees, there is snow on the ground here in Chicago, I have a quiet house because my children are at their Dad's home and I am writing. It feels like a full circle moment but I don't know what circle it comes full to. Maybe it is simply a new circle. A new beginning. A new year upon me. A new decade. I don't know what this writing is going to bring about this time, but I am here for the simplicity of it. The routine. The letting go of social platforms and just writing from the heart. Here we go.
